Privacy policy

Last updated:

This policy explains what personal data terslab.com collects, why it is used, who processes it and how to exercise your rights over it. It applies to this website, its contact form, its assistant, the free visibility audit form, the free diagnosis forms on our campaign pages and, when you use it, the TersLab Check, our automatic website check.

Who is responsible

TersLab operates this website through two companies: TERS, LLC in the United States and GRAPICS S.A.S. in Argentina. For any question about your personal data, write to hey@terslab.com.

The hosting service contracted on the hosting page is provided by GRAPICS S.A.S. under its own terms and conditions.

What data we collect

  • Inquiries. When you send an inquiry through the contact form or the assistant: your name and email; optionally, your company, country, WhatsApp or phone number, the services you are interested in and how you found us; your message or, in the assistant, the goal and timing you choose.
  • Free visibility audit. When you request the free Google and AI visibility audit: your name, email and website address; optionally, your WhatsApp or phone number and the searches that matter to your business.
  • Free diagnosis on our campaign pages. When you request a free diagnosis of your ads, your website or your visibility on Google and AI assistants: your name and email; optionally, your website, your WhatsApp or phone number, your company or business name and your answers to the form's questions (for example, where you advertise, the kind of project or where you want to show up).
  • TersLab Check. When you use our automatic website check: the website address you enter and, optionally, your answers about the business (its name, type, city or neighborhood, whether it runs ads, the languages it serves and your relation to the website). The check also keeps its results, which are public information read from that website and public results we collect from Google, Google Maps, ChatGPT and Gemini; the attribution of your visit, with the same keys as an inquiry; and pseudonymous codes derived from your IP address and, if you unlock the full report, from your email, used only to limit usage. The form also goes through the Cloudflare Turnstile check, which confirms that a person is using it.
  • Full report of the TersLab Check. To unlock it, you give your name and email. They reach our inquiry system with a summary of the report and whether you asked to hear about monthly monitoring. If you also ask for the team's diagnosis, we receive what you write in that form: your name and email if we don't have them yet and, optionally, your WhatsApp or phone number and what matters most to you.
  • Attribution. The page where your first visit started, the site that linked to it (its address without the query string), campaign parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term), ad click identifiers (gclid, gbraid, wbraid, fbclid) and the date of that first visit. This data stays in your browser for up to 90 days and is sent to us only together with an inquiry or when you start a TersLab Check.
  • Technical and usage data. IP address, browser, device, pages visited and interactions, collected by the provider that hosts the website and by the measurement tools listed below.
  • Hosting contracts. The details the contract requires, listed in its terms, and the record of your acceptance. Payment is completed on the Mercado Pago site: card details are entered there, not on terslab.com.
  • Job applications are sent through our hub at app.terslab.com, not through this website.

About the TersLab Check: anyone can check any public website, and the check reads only public information, as a visitor would. The report has a private link: anyone who has it can open the report, which doesn't show your name or email. If someone asks for the diagnosis from that link, the request carries, from the original visit, only its campaign data (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term) and the address of its first page without parameters. The codes derived from IP addresses and emails are pseudonymous, not anonymous: anyone with our secret key could check whether a code belongs to a given address.

Why we use it

  • To reply to your inquiry and prepare a proposal.
  • To prepare the free audit or diagnosis you request (visibility, ads or website) and send it to you by email.
  • To run the TersLab Check and show you its report.
  • To prevent abuse of the TersLab Check and control its costs, with usage limits per IP address, email and website.
  • To write to you about your TersLab Check results and to prepare the diagnosis if you ask for it. We tell you about monthly monitoring only if you ticked that box.
  • To understand which channels bring inquiries, and to measure and improve the website and our campaigns.
  • To contract, bill and support the hosting service.
  • To keep the forms free of automated submissions: a hidden field detects spam, and in the TersLab Check, Cloudflare Turnstile also confirms that a person is using it.

You provide inquiry data voluntarily when you send it. TersLab does not sell the data sent through its forms.

Service providers

These providers take part in processing the data:

  • Supabase: the database where inquiries are stored, including the name and email you give to unlock a TersLab Check report.
  • Cloudflare: hosting and delivery of the website. For the TersLab Check, also Workers (it runs the check), D1 (the database where reports are stored) and Turnstile (it confirms that a person is using the form).
  • Google PageSpeed Insights and the Chrome UX Report: they receive the address of the website you check and return its speed data.
  • DataForSEO OÜ (Estonia): receives the website address, business name, type and city of a TersLab Check, and collects for us public results from Google, Google Maps, ChatGPT and Gemini.
  • Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4: Tag Manager loads the measurement tools and Analytics measures visits and events. The Google Ads conversion linker keeps ad click identifiers.
  • Meta Pixel: measures visits and inquiries for advertising on Meta platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram.
  • Microsoft Clarity: records sessions (clicks, scrolling and mouse movement) to produce session replays and heatmaps.
  • TikTok Pixel: measures visits for advertising on TikTok.
  • OpenAI pixel: measures visits for advertising on OpenAI platforms, such as ChatGPT.
  • Mercado Pago: payment of hosting subscriptions.
  • Make and Google Workspace: archive hosting contracts and send their confirmation email.

The measurement tools only load on terslab.com and www.terslab.com. Their events do not include your name, email, phone, company or message, nor the website you check with the TersLab Check or its scores. The private report pages load no measurement tools, and on the audit page, Microsoft Clarity hides the check and its report in its recordings. Some providers process data outside Argentina, including in the United States.

How long we keep it

  • Inquiries: while we are in conversation or working together, and afterwards only as long as legal or accounting obligations require. You can ask us to delete them at any time.
  • TersLab Check reports: each report and its private link work for 90 days. Then the link stops working and the report is deleted within 7 days. Results for a website can be reused in new checks of the same website for up to 7 days.
  • TersLab Check usage limits: the usage counters are kept for up to 30 days. The pseudonymous codes are also stored with each report and are deleted with it. Copies in our database backups disappear within 30 days.
  • TersLab Check full report: once you unlock it, your name, your email and the report summary are kept like inquiries, and so are your emails with the team.
  • Attribution data in your browser: up to 90 days. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes it earlier.
  • Measurement data: according to the retention settings of each tool.
  • Hosting contracts: as set out in the hosting terms and the applicable law.

Your rights

You can ask to access, rectify, update or delete your personal data by writing to hey@terslab.com from the address you used. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

TersLab Check. If you own a website that someone checked, you can ask us to delete its reports by writing to hey@terslab.com with the website address. If you ran a check, you can ask the same with its private link. To stop receiving emails about your results, reply to any of them and we won't write again. You can also ask us to withdraw or block your data from our database at hey@terslab.com.

Argentina. Personal Data Protection Law 25,326 applies. You can exercise the right of access free of charge at intervals of no less than six months, unless you show a legitimate interest in doing so earlier (article 14, paragraph 3). The Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública (AAIP), as the enforcement authority of Law 25,326, handles complaints from anyone whose rights have been affected by a breach of the personal data rules.

United States. To have the inquiry and attribution data we hold about you deleted, write to hey@terslab.com with the subject “Delete my data” from the email address you used. We will reply to confirm the deletion. You can also limit measurement by blocking cookies in your browser or with the controls each provider offers.

Cookies and local storage

  • The website keeps the attribution data described above in your browser's local storage, under the key terslab:attribution. Our code sends it only with an inquiry or a TersLab Check.
  • The hosting checkout keeps a reference to the contract in local storage, so the return from Mercado Pago can be linked to the acceptance.
  • When a TersLab Check shows its results, the website keeps the id of that report in local storage, under the key terslab:check:last, so you can open it again. If the check needs to update itself, it marks a single reload in session storage, under the key terslab:check:reloaded, with no personal data. Neither is a cookie, and the check works without them.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile, which confirms that a person is using the TersLab Check, works under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • The measurement tools loaded by Google Tag Manager set their own cookies, such as those of Google Analytics (_ga), the Google Ads conversion linker (_gcl_), Meta Pixel (_fbp), Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk), the TikTok Pixel (_ttp, _tt_enable_cookie, ttcsid) and the OpenAI pixel (__obref).
  • You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. The website and its contact form keep working without them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the website or our providers change. The date at the top of the page shows the current version. Questions: hey@terslab.com.
